loveOS

Love is. Action and balance mix how we witness, exhibit, and show love. The length and form of the connections we have with others influences the complexity of the ways love moves through the relationship as well as how others perceive the connection. Classical societies recognize love by how it connects us with others. There are eight forms of human love that have been described and are based on how they move us as well as from where their influence comes. These include eros, philia, storge, and agape as the core four love types as well as ludus, mania, pragma, and philatia. Each is seen differently because of how they arise and the circumstances in which they take hold.

We hear much about the chemical foundations of love around the world today. Potions and elixirs to impose attractions between hearts and forms fill fiction and found much of how beauty products are and have been advertised. Pheromones, neurotransmitters, and forms hold guide over how we and other animals show love. Oxytocin and vasopressin are chemicals that move much of the bonding reactions in humans as well as many other animals including dogs, mice, and other mammals, The greatest difference known today between humans and other animals being that people can hold the moments witnessed in memory to influence later action while animals in nature just move through the feelings that find them.

As we build the world in line with the demands of the future and what we know is needed, the abstraction of how chemicals arise at the fundamental levels of our natures and move us in connected action is a step in our unstated social development. Nature has love as root. In society we have the ability to disconnect from or extend the unconscious and impose new forms. With machines and systems guiding our built world the creation of a system agnostic love framework needs to be a focus. As in nature it would be detailed at a lowest level language and flow across systems. Moving as in nature, it could allow designed systems to connect as the natural ones we know do. Where do you feel love when it arises? Do you know when it has bubbled up and filled you with added thought and action? Flutters in the chest, goosebumps on skin, tingles throughout the body, and stillness in mind can all be ways we connect with deep feelings of the known kinds of love mentioned. As society grows in complexity the kinds of love likely to be seen have potential to expand as well. So we know the construction we detail should be functional at the lowest level, system agnostic, and extensible. Dystopias arise from disconnections with what nature has given us all. Giving the systems to come a common OS free of charge to aid in expression, growth, and being is a step in our social development. What would this system look like, how would it work, and would there be stated standards or regulators? Could it be a distributed network based on foundational rules as seen in the chemical analogs throughout nature?

How could the system flow below be implemented in a chip, circuits, materials, neuron, code, or other components? Love feels like the moments that give us pause to reassess action and shift methods as well as the ones that take reason and urge us to dive in. Share your thoughts and feelings on what moves you.
