The things we practice make us. When we whittle we share our sweat with matter and bring an image into view from our minds' depths. Festivals, shows, performances, ceremonies, and all manner of gatherings for people to grow and share push us to greater expressive highs and pull us out of the creative isolation we often find surrounding creative groups. What separates the art we sweat with from the ones we think through is a broader area to explore.

Dances and performances were once only held in the memories of those who bore witness to the sweat shed in expressing the emotions and moment at hand. Canvas and stone, on the other hand, can be passed down and viewed for generations when well preserved. How have we preserved the origins of performance is something we are still unearthing. Stories told over generations move differently as they mix with the feelings and knowings of the times. Similarly performances shared through sweat and witness can change with each exhibition. The power of crafts to move and hold us to moments stays strong regardless of the times we are in. Preserving each frame of shared experience from sweat filled moments stored in mediums we can touch as well as those we are used to holding will be foundational for artistic expression in years to come.
