Classical Thoughts on Control

The ability to influence is general definition of control. As an action word control also means to take into account when performing analysis. The acquisition of control has been a climb. When any amount has been gained the goal is often to hold it and share with those that support you. Having a sense of influence dramatically changes how people approach tasks and situations. The power in feeling you are moving a decision makes activities all the more engaging. Being able to influence the world as we see it is a tenet of survival. The way nature goes about influence is a mystery spread across vast distances and time. We see animals carry nothing with them, rest where they get tired and feel safe, as well as stay the same wherever life takes them. The personal growth comes in less distinct stages in the natural world in comparison to the way we see it compared to human society today.

The power to move yourself through the world, provide for yourself or society, move another to your will, and being able to decide where your mind goes are all levels of control. A Greek philosopher wrote that all external events are beyond our control and that what happens in the world around us should be met with stoic dispassion and calm reaction as much as possible. That philosopher also wrote that we are responsible for our personal actions and that we have the ability to examine and control them through rigorous self discipline.

Modern Scope

The scope of self has expanded. Technology in both hardware advances as well as conceptual expansions have continually reshaped how we see ourselves influencing the world around us. The ability to influence those around us is a function of our understanding of the ability to navigate the infrastructure that connects. The modern world is underlined and underwritten by the explicit definitions and external control systems that innervate our communities. Media explores this shift in perception and scope in unique and thought provoking ways. Having the ability to move with and through others is a concept that is both shrinking and expanding our world. Smaller distances to affect the world and greater abilities to connect with the multitudes throughout.

The games of a people can speak to the past and present experiences and cultural norms. The onset of the digital age is a clear shift in the possible. Many have posited that the start of that time could also be seen as a new experiential frame for defining everything to follow. Being able to move concepts with keystrokes is extension of the mind to visualizing and realizing intentions. Gaming in the digital age has sparked anxiety as explored here. Being the one driving visualizations and what is possible can be exciting. The separation from experience is the point of contention. Many active in the social and gaming technology today feel greater levels of detachment and have a general difficult in connecting without the pretext filled from behind screens. The technology we carry in our pockets is orders more powerful than that which moved nations a few decades prior. We see, hear, and feel the larger world through the vibrations dealt by devices.

Buttons

The future is a mystery until it is another story. What we exact is exacted. How much do intentions weigh? The forces that drive us to act are beyond our expression. As the world flows around us in more controllable ways we see greater reasons. The purpose driving us expands with the world as we understand and extend it.  Pressing buttons holds expanding weight. Tapping screens is the modern. Expressing self is all that is left to come. How do the buttons we press speak to what we are working to bring about in the world, purge from within, or explore? Setting systems in motion is a press away. Each stroke mixes a bit of the past with the emotions and intentions of the present to brew tomorrows. Find the buttons that realize the future that holds the fulfillment, growth, and joy that move you.
