Borders

There are a number of detailed forms of rulership based on who we envision should hold those roles given the demands of leadership. The focus is often on the elites guiding decisions to best culture the results that help society, within the lines drawn, flourish. The systems all fall for various reasons as conflicts between those in different lines press ethical dilemmas and power struggles. The focus of which governance form to take is a closed system question as it is seen by the systems today. Yet we should expand this focus to what unites all of the systems regardless of race, culture, history, or leanings. There are some governance forms that already include broad solutions based in deference but in the global resource centered world of today there are conflicts in world views that erode the stability possible in such systems in the general case. A yet detailed form of governance that we should explore is society ruled by the poor.

Global Striving Class

Poverty has no borders. Every nation has an underclass, peoples shunned and ignored because of inability to contribute to the system as it stands. Class systems in past communities labeled these groups peasants, untouchables or Dalits, as well as the slew of derogatory terms for the diverse family of low income peoples in every community. The needs of a society are seen in its impoverished. Often the easiest thing to do is strive within the groups and rungs we have ascended to as individuals. However, the easiest and most expedient solutions in the moment tear at the possibility of long term stability. The struggles of those with the least show where the most work can be done and provide fundamental shifts to the kinds of solutions that flow for restitching cultural fabrics.

Fluid Support

We see those with elite skills in leadership because they make the best decisions given extensive knowledge and diverse skill sets. The culture that flows within the strained and struggling communities has become yet another offering in the global economy. The commodification of cultures not based in material expression, such as those with deep silent wealth, but on the mentalities they allow creates a pressure within the communities struggling. The scarcity of opportunity as well as flexibility of support given changes in economic circumstance breeds a mentality of "feed and claw today to stay afloat tomorrow".

We are in a time of shifting technological considerations coupled with expanding capabilities. The role that people will play in designing solutions of tomorrow is murky. The expanding requirements of tech leadership, increasing number of tech native youth who are distant from the complex processes needed to create the systems of today, and increasing considerations of automation systems means an expanding distance for people to participate as active development leads or team members. Systems that explore the cultural shifts both within low income communities and around them given economic drivers would allow for the development of long term solutions based in action rather than material developments.

We have touched on the changing voting systems. One form a system ruled by the poor could take would be weighting of actions, preferences, or needs within the community for consideration within the larger system of social and economic movers.

What kinds of solutions would be seen? How would laws and decisions be made? Would nations still be necessary? What kinds of poverty aspiration approaches would be possible to ensure people continue to strive to become their best, as measured by either productivity or fulfillment, selves? How would solutions build on each other? Much is to be explored about such a system and new solutions are welcome given the widespread sentiments felt by the people dissatisfied with the flow of situations around the world.
